Causes of allergic urticaria

The most common symptom of any type of allergy is hives. Almost every person at least once faced with such a manifestation. Sometimes this symptom goes away on its own, without any effort on the part of the patient. This happens due to the termination of contact with the allergen. But this is not her treatment, and urticaria becomes chronic with periodic exacerbations and remissions. And in order to start its successful and correct treatment, it is necessary to identify the cause of urticaria.

These can be completely different types of allergies that require immediate therapy. Among the main reasons, it is worth highlighting food, medications, pollen and house dust, and much more.

Food

The main cause of allergic urticaria is our daily diet. A large number of foods can serve as allergens that provoke a variety of reactions. Many people may not even be aware that they have a food allergy. Often the initial stage is asymptomatic. And only after some time, allergens accumulate in the body, and signs of the disease begin to appear. Including hives. The following foods are the most dangerous:

  • Smoked meats, salty and fatty foods;
  • Cow's milk and chicken eggs;
  • Sausages;
  • Fatty meats and liver;
  • Nuts and mushrooms;
  • Radish, sorrel and radish;
  • Citrus fruits, strawberries, raspberries;
  • Coffee, alcohol, carbonated drinks;
  • Honey, chocolate, pastries.

Many allergists argue that sufficiently hypoallergenic products can also serve as the appearance of urticaria. This is due to the poor functioning of the liver, which does not do its job of cleaning the body in full. Given this fact, food products such as semolina, butter, carrots, potatoes, beets, cottage cheese, currants, bananas, cherries, and garlic can also contribute to the development of allergic urticaria. Such food should be eaten very carefully, constantly monitoring all the reactions of the body. For the appearance of allergic urticaria in children, it is enough just to consume a large amount of chocolate or fruit. The child's body is not yet strong, and requires special attention. Therefore, parents need to monitor the nutrition of their baby. It is also not recommended to introduce complementary foods to the baby too early, breastfeed as long as possible.

Medications - the cause of allergic urticaria

Often, an incorrectly prescribed medication can provoke an allergic reaction, including hives. This happens if specialists do not take into account all the characteristics of the patient's body, its individual intolerance to some components. Very often, various hormonal drugs, including oral contraceptives, are the cause of urticaria. Therefore, it is forbidden to select them yourself. Be sure to consult with a competent specialist.

A large number of antibiotics have allergic properties. This is due to their strong effect on liver cells. The risk areas include the following:

  • Sumamed;
  • Biseptol;
  • Nolicin;
  • Ofloxacin;
  • Palin;
  • Griseofulvin.

A large number of anti-inflammatory and antipyretic drugs can provoke the appearance of allergic urticaria. Even some antihistamines have such reactions, no matter how absurd it may sound. A lot of funds for the cardiovascular system can cause hives:

  • Fibrates;
  • Digitoxin;
  • amiodarone;
  • Atorvatstatins.

Antidepressants, some diuretics, blood sugar lowering drugs, corticosteroids, essential oils, and salicylic acid also pose a significant risk.

Physical factors in the development of allergic urticaria

Allergic urticaria can develop against the background of exposure to direct sunlight. After a long stay under ultraviolet light, a small red rash, small burns and redness begin to appear on the body. As a rule, in a healthy person, it passes or partially subsides during the day. If this does not occur, we can talk about an allergic reaction. Scientists attribute this to a strong intoxication of the body with various substances (alcohol, food, plants, cosmetics), which, when interacting with sunlight, cause allergies. The places of localization of such allergic urticaria are completely diverse. The rash first appears on open areas of the body that have directly interacted with the sun's rays, gradually spreading throughout the body.

Urticaria can begin its development due to exposure to cold air or water temperatures. In most cases, children suffer from such a disease as cold allergy. With a long stay on the street on a frosty day, urticaria, dermatitis, rhinitis and conjunctivitis begin to appear. It is classified as a year-round disease, and not seasonal, since symptoms are also noticed from the influence of cold water.

Special attention deserves various cosmetics, the quality of which wants to be the best. Many creams contain essential oils, natural herbal ingredients that cause hives. These are nettle, quinoa, ash-tree, clover, tribulations. Poor-quality decorative cosmetics can permanently change the structure of your skin. After the appearance of allergic urticaria, pigment spots may appear, which cannot be completely eliminated.

In addition to all this, the following types of allergies can cause a rash on the body:

  • Pollinosis;
  • Allergy to pets;
  • House dust and mold;
  • Allergy to insect bites.
